In tribute to Warner Wolf, if you had the Titans and 58 points, YOU LOST! I was stunned to see a final score of 59-0 on Sunday. The Patriots simply demolished the Titans in the snow. Rarely does a professional team get destroyed by that type of margin.
The Saints made a big statement this weekend as well. Putting up 48 on a great Giants defense was impressive and running away with a 21 point victory made the league take notice.
Who thinks Brett Favre is washed up? The guy still has a cannon and can make plays when the game is on the line. Baltimore missed a kick a pro kicker should make, but the Vikings are sitting at 6-0.
Jim Zorn continued his miserable direction of the Washington offense. How you can’t get playmakers like Chris Cooley and Santana Moss the ball more often I don’t know. The Chiefs defense played well but not to the level of holding a team to six points. Just a season long trend of underachievement by the Washington offense.
Here’s a recap of Week 6 in the NFL:
Vikings 33, Ravens 31 – Not expecting a shootout in this one. What’s happened to the Ravens defense?
Saints 48, Giants 27 – Drew Brees just threw it whereever and whenever he wanted.
Steelers 27, Browns 14 – Another terrible passing performance for Derek Anderson. I can’t wait for the inept QB battle between Anderson and JaMarcus Russell in week 16.
Panthers 28, Buccaneers 21 – Another loss for the Bucs. They’re at least competitive but it’s gonna be tough for them to win.
Chiefs 14, Redskins 6 – Another horrendous offensive performance by the Redskins. Albert Haynesworth played most of the game in the KC backfield but with a safety and four fieldgoals, the Chiefs more than doubled up the ‘Skins.
Texans 28, Bengals 17 – Cincinnati just couldn’t get it going and the Texans got a big win on the road. Will the Texans be able to play like this every week? They haven’t shown that in their history.
Raiders 13, Eagles 9 - Another eye catching score. the Raiders who came off a blowout loss, rebound to beat a good Eagles team.
Packers 26, Lions 0 – Aaron Rodgers temporarily relieved the misery Packer fans have had to endure while Brett Favre succeeds…it was against the Lions though.
Jaguars 23, Rams 20 (OT) – Rams came close to putting one in the win column but couldn’t hold on and then dropped it in OT. They’re staying in most of their games.
Bills 16, Jets 13 (OT) - the Jets have a great defense to still have a chance in this game after they threw six INTs. Rookie Mark Sanchez has started to look like a rookie with five picks yesterday. Much needed win for the Bills.
Patriots 59, Titans 0 – Tom Brady threw five touchdowns in the second quarter. Tennessee already has twice as many losses as they did last year. You’ve got to think a major change needs to be made soon to get them in gear.
Cardinals 27, Seahawks 3 – Cardinals needed this win to get back on track. They’re back looking like the team to beat in their division. The Seahawks continue to struggle.
Falcons 21, Bears 14 – Bears got a great game from their defense but the offense just couldn’t score enough points for the win. Good sign though for the Falcons, they can win without a huge offensive game.
Broncos 34, Chargers 23 - Broncos are for real. A big road win and they take control of the AFC West. Can Josh McDaniel keep his team rolling or do they start to cruise?
