NFL Week 4 Recap

Week 4 of the NFL season is over and we can now get past Favre Bowl I. Brett Favre lit up the Packers last night to win his revenge game against his former team. You know he went to sleep smiling after a great performance last night. Here’s a recap of week 4 in the NFL.

-Bears 48, Lions 24 – Jay Cutler has another great performance. Hopefully this isn’t the beginning of another 19 game losing streak for the Lions.
-Bengals 23, Browns 20 – Browns showed some fight, literally. Braylon Edwards is on a downward spiral that only continued Sunday as he punched a Bengals player and didn’t catch a pass. Oh yeah, later that night he punched LeBron James’ friend.
-Texans 29, Raiders 6 – How long does JaMarcus Russell last this season as the starter? 12 for 33 is another horrendous performance by Russell this season. The Raiders have to be losing patience with him.
-Colts 34, Seahawks 17 – Peyton Manning is in a three way race for MVP at the quarter mark of the season with his brother Eli and Drew Brees.
-Jaguars 37, Titans 17 – Shocking otucome. I definitely didn’t see Tennessee falling to 0-4 in such an embarassing fashion.
-Giants 27, Chiefs 16 – Bizarre decisions by Kansas City in this game. They made the score respectable but the outcome was never in doubt. WR Steve Smith is looking like a pro bowler 4 games into the season.
-Patriots 27, Ravens 21 – Patriots return to form with a little help from the refs. Questionable calls helped keep drives alive and move them along on Sunday. The AFC looks wide open now.
-Redskins 16, Bucs 13 – Jim Zorn came close to joining the unemployment line. Lucky for him, he got his team to flip the switch and pull out a win.
-Dolphins 38, Bills 10 – No Chad Pennington, no problem. Miami just steamrolled the Bills. What’s happened to Marshawn Lynch? 4 yards on 8 carries?
-Saints 24, Jets 10 – Mark Sanchez comes down to Earth and looks like a rookie. Three picks are tough to overcome any game but the Saints defense looks stifling so far.
-Broncos 17, Cowboys 10 – Brandon Marshall made the play that won the game for the Broncos. Their defense though is the reason for this surprising start.
-49ers 35, Rams 0 – St. Louis is terrible. Being shutout is remarkable in today’s NFL. Most teams can at least muster a fieldgoal.
-Steelers 38, Chargers 28 – A big comeback from San Diego fell short. The Steelers need to find a better way to close out games. They had a strong first half but then faded down the stretch.
-Vikings 30, Packers 23 – Get ready now to hear about his return to Lambeau. That will be the biggest game of the season and probably in my lifetime in the regular season. Jared Allen and the Vikings sacked Aaron Rodgers 8 times. The Pack must improve the line or Favre Bowl II will be similar.
