A new feature for summer here at MachoRhino.com is movie previews. Each Friday afternoon, we’ll post our thoughts on movies coming out that weekend. We will give it to you straight. No sugarcoating. No BS. This is an honest opinion on these flicks. These are previews and not reviews because if we think a movie is going to suck, we’re not going to waste our time by watching it. $10 can be spent much better than squandering it on two of these three movies this weekend guys (Think lap dance). Only three new movies debut this weekend and none really jump out as must-sees but one has a lovely leading lady so it’s worth checking out if you need something to do. Otherwise get out and enjoy the sun!
Killers (PG-13) – I like Katherine Heigl and wouldn’t mind staring at her for an hour and a half. Ashton Kutcher seems to be type cast in every movie now days with just a slight difference from character to character. The story sounds like one that’s been done before but could be slightly entertaining with this cast. From the clips I’ve seen Heigl looks incredibly beautiful like usual so if you need to go see a movie this weekend, plunk down the money and see this one.

Marmaduke (PG) – It’s animated and geared toward children. Marmaduke can be a funny comic strip but there’s no way I think it’ll be funny for over an hour for an adult. If you’ve got kids they might like it but otherwise it’s not worth going to see.

Get Him to the Greek (R) – This movie looks cliché. An out of control rock star who needs a babysitter is so original. It’s like the just stole an episode of TMZ and turned flipped it in to a feature film. Russell Brand is an obnoxious buffoon and I’m not talking about him as his character in this movie. He’s an unbelievably annoying dope who I can’t stand and I’ll never watch a movie he’s in especially if he’s the star. Producer, casting director or whoever chose this cast did a very poor job. Jonah Hill is great. I like Jonah Hill and he’s been very funny in past performances but with Russell Brand starring in this movie there is absolutely no way I will see it. Katy Perry, what are you doing with Russell Brand? Seriously, leave him! You can do much better. Do NOT go see this so Russell will fade back to obscurity. I hope this movie finishes last this weekend.
